The BTS Coach Programme is an advanced, hands-on training designed for professionals ready to lead the adoption and implementation of the Business Technology Standard (BTS) in organisations. Delivered onsite, this two-day course focuses on building participants' confidence and competence to communicate the value of BTS effectively and create actionable plans for successful operating model renewal and transformation.

The BTS Coach Programme prepares you to:

  • Communicate and Convince: Develop the skills to articulate the principles and value of BTS to key stakeholders, including management teams and decision-makers.

Prerequisites

To ensure participants are fully prepared, the following prerequisites are required before attending the BTS Coach Programme:

  • BTS Foundation and Practitioner Certifications: You must have completed both levels.

  • In-depth Knowledge of BTS Materials: This includes familiarity with the three core books (Essentials of the Operating Model for Business and Technology Development, Value Creation with Business Technology Operating Model, and BTS Capability Model) and all 13 BTS guides.

  • Qualification Test: Participants must pass a pre-course qualification test to validate their understanding of the BTS framework and its methodologies.

    What to Expect?

    This onsite programme offers a highly interactive experience structured over two days:

    Day 1: Mastering Communication and Influence

    • Learn to confidently communicate the key concepts and benefits of the BTS framework.

    • Rehearse stakeholder pitches, focusing on persuading management teams and decision-makers about the need for renewing an organisation's operating model.

    • Receive personalised feedback to refine your messaging and delivery, ensuring you can inspire and engage your audience effectively.

    Day 2: Planning and Leading Transformation with BTS

    • Develop a deep understanding of how to plan and lead the renewal of an operating model using the BTS framework.

    • Learn how to "slice and dice" the operating model renewal into manageable phases to ensure strategic alignment and operational success.

    • Gain insight into leading the design programme, including structuring and prioritising tasks and resources.

    • Understand how to lead the implementation of the operating model renewal, ensuring smooth execution and sustainable change across the organisation.

    Create a customised plan tailored to your organisation or a client’s transformation needs, with guidance from instructors and peers.

    Certification Outcome

    Upon completing the programme, you will:

    • Be certified as a BTS Coach, demonstrating your ability to lead BTS adoption efforts confidently.

    • Gain practical skills to create strategic plans tailored to your organisation or clients.
